What are digital microphones?

Akustica’s digital-output microphones are designed and manufactured using our revolutionary CMOS MEMS technology which enables the integration of the microphone transducer along with an amplifier and a sigma-delta converter all on a single piece of silicon.

Benefits of digital microphones?

As mobile phones and other consumer electronic devices continue to integrate more functionality and additional wireless capabilities into smaller and smaller products, the need for microphones that can scale down in size and can be placed in the best acoustic location without regard for the surrounding components will become more and more critical. Since the robust digital output of the microphones is immune to radio frequency (RF) and electromagnetic (EM) interference from nearby components such as antennas and displays, digital microphones are ideal for these applicatons.

Mobile Phone and Consumer Electronics Reference design

Akustica and TI have worked together to develop a reference design for use in mobile phones and other consumer electronic devices. The AKU2xxx-Module-B is a microphone array evaluation board with a direct connection to the TLV320AIC33/3106/34 evaluation board.
